Main Components of SAT

Reading

The SAT reading section is a portion of the SAT exam that assesses a student's ability to comprehend and analyze written text. The reading section consists of 52 multiple-choice questions and is divided into five passages, each of which is approximately 500-750 words in length. These passages cover a range of topics, including science, history, social studies, and literature.

The SAT reading section is designed to test a student's critical reading skills, including the ability to

  • Analyze a passage's main idea and purpose
  • Understand the tone and mood of a passage
  • Identify the author's point of view and argument
  • Determine the meaning of words in context
  • Draw inferences from the text
  • Evaluate arguments and evidence presented in the passage
  • Analyze the passage's structure, including its organization and use of rhetorical devices.

To prepare for the SAT reading section, students should practice reading a variety of texts and answering questions that assess their comprehension and analysis skills. They should also focus on building their vocabulary and improving their ability to identify key concepts and ideas in written text.

Writing

The SAT Writing section is a part of the SAT test that measures a student's ability to write clearly, concisely, and effectively. It assesses a student's ability to identify errors in grammar, usage, and punctuation, as well as to improve the clarity and coherence of a given piece of writing.

The multiple-choice questions ask students to identify and correct grammatical errors, improve sentence structure and style, and recognize effective writing techniques. The SAT Writing section is scored on a scale of 200-800, which is then combined with the scores from the Reading and Math sections to give students a total SAT score. The Writing section is 40 minutes long and is the third and final section of the SAT test.

Math

The SAT Math section is one of the two main sections of the SAT test, along with the SAT Evidence-Based Reading and Writing section. The Math section tests a student's knowledge and skills in a range of math topics, including algebra, geometry, trigonometry, and data analysis. The Math section is divided into two parts, a calculator-allowed section, and a calculator-not-allowed section.

The calculator section includes multiple-choice questions and 8 grid-in questions, for a total of questions. The no calculator section includes 15 multiple-choice questions and 5 grid-in questions, for a total of 20 questions. The Math section is scored on a scale of 200 to 800, with 800 being the highest possible score.

They have instructors who are likable, perceptive, and get to teenagers easily. My daughter really enjoyed the classes in ReWiser and benefited scoring a 1500 in SAT and 800/800/ for Physics and Math. My second daughter is also getting ready to attend their classes this year.
