Crack the
Digital PSAT

with Expert Prep

The PSAT (Preliminary SAT) is a standardized test designed to help students prepare for the SAT while assessing college readiness at an early stage. It focuses on a student’s ability to read, think, analyze, and solve problems across the Reading and Writing, and Math sections rather than just testing mechanical learning.

The PSAT exam has different versions aimed at students in grade 8 or 9 (PSAT 8/9), students in grade 10 (PSAT 10), and the PSAT NMSQT (National Merit Scholarship Qualifying Test) for students who are U.S. citizens to be eligible for college scholarships. The PSAT 10 and PSAT NMSQT are scored out of 1520 possible points.

The test is conducted digitally and has a total duration of approximately 2 hours and 24 minutes, including a 10-minute break. The actual testing time is about 2 hours and 14 minutes. It is divided into two main sections: Reading and Writing, and Math, each administered in two modules. There is a scheduled 10-minute break between the two sections, allowing students to rest before continuing with the Math portion.

Digital PSAT 8/9 Format

The Digital PSAT is a 2-component test: Reading and Writing and Mathematics.

For the PSAT 8/9, section scores range between 120 and 720. Each of the two sections (Reading + Writing and Math) have two modules. The two section scores are added together to obtain an overall score between 240 and 1440.

The exam takes a total of approximately 2 hours and 24 minutes, with a 10-minute break after the first two modules, just like the SAT. English (Reading + Writing) comprises 54 questions (27 per module) and Math comprises 44 questions (22 per module), and follows an adaptive testing method. This means that a student’s performance on module 1 determines the level of difficulty for module 2, across both English and Math.

PSAT Score Requirements

PSAT scores are primarily used to measure college readiness and predict future SAT performance, and (in the case of the PSAT NMSQT) qualify students for National Merit Scholarship recognition.

In the case of PSAT 8/9 and PSAT 10, scores are not submitted to colleges for university applications.

How ReWiser Helps You Succeed

Personalized Study Plans

As a primary step, ReWiser conducts a diagnostic PSAT test to identify the strengths and areas of improvement.

According to the performance, an academic counsellor gives an individualised study plan in which the student focuses on high-impact topics rather than spreading effort in all areas.

Mock Tests and Performance Analysis

The students will be provided access to complete format simulation test papers of the Digital PSATs. In-depth performance analysis reports are provided to the student and their parents with the results of each mock test, including Section Analysis, Question Break-up and Actionable Insights.

Flexible Learning Options

ReWiser offers multiple learning formats: from one-on-one classes for personalised attention to small group sessions with a 1:10 student-teacher ratio. Seasoned, expert faculty conduct these classes to ensure that students are well familiarised with and prepared for answering questions from all domains tested on the exam.

The class schedules are flexible enough to fit the PSAT preparation smoothly around school and extracurricular commitments.

Expert Guidance Throughout

Each student will be paired with a mentor who will monitor the grades of each student, provide practice that will improve performance, create personalised study plans and organize doubt clearing sessions with faculty to create a solid basis for future SAT performance.
